While it is difficult to identify gum diseases at an early stage, periodontal disease is easily identifiable because of its symptoms. While it develops slowly, patients who suffer from this condition usually notice bleeding while brushing their teeth, tender or sore gums, bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth, receding gums, and jaw degeneration.

To check if you are suffering from a periodontal disease, we conduct an examination. There are several factors we need to take into consideration before confirming the disease. Once confirmed, we begin the right line of treatment to stop the infection from spreading and halt the progression of the disease. In most cases, the treatment would involve multiple visits to us to ensure the mouth is completely free of any infections.

Detection Is Vital

One of the reasons why we encourage our patients to visit us once every 6 months is because it helps to identify any dental issues early. If you don't, the disease would spread through your mouth and the infection will get severe. Our professionals may choose to conduct surgical procedures to remove the infection. This could take longer and it may cause slight discomfort as compared to non-surgical procedures. It could also involve permanent tooth loss.
