Tips for Keeping Your Original Teeth Your Entire Life

Everyone wants a radiant smile, but is it possible to have this smile with your original teeth your entire life? While the aging process may work against you, we have some tips for you to consider that may help you keep your teeth.

Do the Right Thing

Take care of your teeth. This involves choosing to incorporate good daily oral hygiene habits. Our top recommendation is to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. Use a fluoride toothpaste and take your time brushing your teeth. Use circular motions, moving the toothbrush along your gums and teeth. Make sure you brush your tongue as well. Change your toothbrush around four times a year. An easy way to keep track of this is to change your toothbrush with the change of seasons. This tip assumes you experience four seasons in a year! Is also important to floss your teeth once a day. Use dental flossers if you find traditional flossing cumbersome or difficult. Also, consider mouthwash as a bonus to your brushing and flossing routine. Mouthwash can cleanse hard to brush areas around the gums and reduce the amount of acid in the mouth. These daily habits will go a long way to help you keep your teeth.

It is also important to be mindful of what you put in your mouth. Drink lots of water and limit carbonated beverages. Also limit acidic fruits, sugary food, and alcohol.
